Eric Sype is Solutions Lab’s Graduate Intern, bringing four years of experience in youth empowerment and community engagement to the team.

While living in rural Nicaragua, Mr. Sype worked with youth to start a bike rental company as a way to fund college scholarships and increase access to higher education. As a Fulbright Scholar in Colombia, he taught English Language courses at the university level while partnering with community leaders and the US Embassy in Bogota on a youth-centered peace building project.

Upon returning to the US, he spent a year supporting youth from Latin America participating in an international leadership exchange program in the Seattle Area. From there, he spent two years working for UNICEF USA as the Seattle Community Engagement Fellow. Working with students and Members of Congress alike, he was able to cultivate support in the Seattle area for the work UNICEF does around the globe to serve the world’s most vulnerable children.

Mr. Skype is currently a Master of Development Practice Candidate at the University of California, Berkeley.
